Bibliography References in Inkscape

Overview

Point the extension at your .bib file and insert formatted references onto the canvas — the poster reference section stops being a manual transcription exercise with inevitable typos.

Why it exists

Poster references are where citation errors hide in plain sight at conferences; pulling from the same .bib as your paper ends that.

How to install

  1. Open the GitHub repository and follow the README — installation is the standard Inkscape route: copy the extension files into your Inkscape extensions folder.
  2. Restart Inkscape; the extension appears under Extensions in the menu.
  3. Check the README for dependencies (Python packages, API keys, or external binaries where applicable).
When NOT to use this Formatting options are simpler than a full CSL processor — complex citation styles may need touch-up.
