Before the Workshop

Please install Obsidian (free at obsidian.md) and download the starter vault template. The download link is sent automatically after registration.

You’ll also receive a 10-minute “prep video” that covers installation and first-run setup — so we don’t spend the first 30 minutes of the live session on basic installs.

After the Workshop

Workshop participants get access to a private Discord channel where you can ask follow-up questions, share screenshots of your vault, and get feedback from other participants.

Most participants report having a functional research system within 48 hours of the workshop.

Who Should Attend

PhD Students

In Years 1–3 who want a research system before their note pile becomes unmanageable.

Active Researchers

Juggling multiple projects and struggling to connect literature across topics.

Tool Switchers

Coming from Notion, Roam, or physical notebooks who want a proper migration path.

Non-Technical Academics

No prior experience with markdown, plugins, or terminal required.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to prepare?
Install Obsidian (free) and download the starter vault template (link sent after registration). That's it. We'll install plugins live during the session.
What if I can't attend live?
A recording will be available for 60 days. However, the live Q&A and real-time troubleshooting are a major part of the value — try to attend if you can.
I already use Obsidian. Is this too basic?
If you have a working vault with Dataview queries and Zotero linked, this may be too introductory. If not — there's almost certainly something here for you.
Is there a refund policy?
Full refund up to 48 hours before the workshop. After that, you'll receive the recording and materials but refunds won't be available.
What's the group size?
Maximum 20 participants. This is intentionally small to allow real-time troubleshooting and Q&A.
